Our Staff

Mark Furtado, Psy.D., M.S.W. is a clinical psychologist licensed to practice in Massachusetts and New York. He graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Sociology from Syracuse University, after which he earned his Master of Social Work (MSW) Degree from Boston College. He then went on to complete his Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree from William James College. Dr. Furtado has over 10 years of experience working in a variety of settings including inpatient and outpatient substance abuse treatment programs. He has also worked in academic and mental health settings including university health centers, community mental health centers, and residential and public schools. Dr. Furtado started working in private practice in 2017 and opened Start Line Behavioral Health, LLC in 2021. He lives in Massachusetts with his partner and their two adopted dogs, Dax and Trip. In his free time, Dr. Furtado enjoys cooking, learning about food and nutrition, staying active, listening to true crime podcasts, geocaching, and taking his dogs on adventures. In addition to mental health promotion, Dr. Furtado is also passionate about animal rights and recovery advocacy.
